Celebrating its tenth year, Fuwan Chocolate once again brings Taiwan’s cacao to the world with brilliance. This year, our creations “Austronesian Spring – Tribute” and “Austronesian Winter – Rebirth” were honored with Gold in France’s prestigious Club des Croqueurs de Chocolat and featured in the 2026 Le Guide des Croqueurs de Chocolat, one of the highest authorities in chocolate tasting.
In late October 2025, Fuwan made a dazzling appearance at the world-renowned Salon du Chocolat Paris, achieving remarkable sales and earning praise from master chocolatiers across Europe. Taiwan’s first-ever export of Pingtung cacao beans has already sold out before arrival in Italy this December — a milestone proudly witnessed and supported by the Economic Division of the Taipei Representative Office in France.
A Symphony of Taiwanese Terroir
The award-winning Austronesian Spring – Tribute blends Hualien prickly ash and Pingtung vanilla into a black chocolate fermented with Pingtung longan honey. Judges described it as:
“A journey into the unknown — jasmine, bright citrus, exotic spices, roasted rice tea, herbal notes… complex and ever-evolving.”
Its companion piece, Austronesian Winter – Rebirth, features Amis millet wine lees, rose, lychee, and mulberry, weaving rustic tradition into refined elegance:
“Unfamiliar to the French palate, yet remarkably expressive — each element is identifiable, including a whisper of rice wine… even reminiscent of the fruity charm of a bubble-tea aroma.”
Glory at the International Chocolate Awards
On November 8, 2025 (Taipei time), Fuwan continued its golden journey at the ICA World Final, earning 16 awards —
1 Gold, 5 Silver, 9 Bronze, and 1 Special Award.
The Gold medal went to Taiwan No.1 – 100% Pingtung Black Chocolate, achieving an impressive score of 90.0. Other celebrated creations include:
Once again, Fuwan shares the beauty of Taiwan’s land and culture with the world — through chocolate.
A Dream Realized
Fuwan CEO Warren Hsu reflects:
“After five years of competing, exhibiting, and exchanging in Europe and the U.S., we are finally seeing Taiwanese chocolate recognized on the global stage. Exporting Taiwan’s cacao beans to Japan and Europe for the first time feels like a dream once thought impossible.
Thank you for your support. And thank you to our entire Fuwan team.
We will continue exploring the infinite possibilities of cacao — creating new value for chocolate and making the world a better place, one bar at a time.”
